On Wednesday, August 26 at 6:30 PM, we invite you to join us virtually for a screening of The Occupation of the American Mind, a powerful documentary that examines how the Israeli government, U.S. government, pro-Israel advocacy organizations, and American media have shaped the narrative surrounding Israel and Palestine.
Narrated by Roger Waters, the film takes a critical look at the public relations strategies and media narratives that have influenced American perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, while examining how Palestinian voices and experiences have often been marginalized or distorted.
But the conversation doesn’t end when the film does. Following the screening, we will come together for a discussion about the film, the role of media and propaganda in shaping public opinion, and what this means for how Americans understand Palestine and U.S. policy.
